General Manager - Restaurant

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise daily restaurant operations, including food preparation, service delivery, and kitchen management, to ensure smooth functioning and high-quality standards.
• Manage staff recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluations to build a motivated and skilled team.
• Oversee inventory control, food safety procedures, and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with health regulations and minimize waste.
• Utilize POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reporting.
• Monitor financial performance through profit and loss analysis, budgeting, and cost control measures to maximize profitability.
• Coordinate shift management by scheduling staff effectively to meet customer demand during peak hours while maintaining optimal staffing levels.
• Foster a welcoming environment by delivering outstanding customer service and resolving guest concerns promptly and professionally.
• Implement marketing initiatives and promotional activities to attract new customers and retain loyal patrons.

Skills

• Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling across casual dining or quick service environments.
• Proven management skills with a background in hospitality management, team leadership, and supervising hospitality teams.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS; proficient in cash handling and basic math for accurate transactions.
• Familiarity with inventory control, food safety management, and food production processes in the food industry.
• Excellent communication skills for managerial communication, staff training & development, interviewing, and team management.
• Ability to oversee kitchen operations with culinary experience or kitchen management expertise; experience in catering or banquet settings is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze profit & loss statements, manage budgets, and implement cost-saving strategies effectively.
• Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork, motivate staff training initiatives, and uphold high standards of customer service excellence.
