General Manager - Security Operations

The NWTL Group has a rich history of operating for nearly 40 years in Papua New Guinea's as one of the leading Security, Property and Retail organizations employing a team of over 1600 people across the country.

 We are now looking for results driven General Manger for our security business, Force Security Services. This role leads a team of over 700 people and maintains the security services for some of the country’s most high profile and blue-chip customers.

 This is a full-time role based in Port Moresby and comes with an executive renumeration package aligned with this senior role.

About the Role

 The General Manager – Security will report directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer and will be responsible for leading all aspects of the security businesses performance across the country. This senior leadership role will have full accountable for maintaining the highest level of safety for our customers and team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader who is relentless in the pursuit of customer satisfaction and developing your team around you.

Key Accountabilities

Leadership & People Management

 ·         Lead, coach and develop your operational leaders and frontline teams across the country.

·         Drive a high-performance culture focused on safety, accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.

·         Maintain high level employee engagement, retention, workforce planning and capability development initiatives.

·         Support your leadership team development and succession planning across the business.

Operational Performance & Service Delivery

 ·         Ensure our security services are delivered in accordance with contractual obligations and company standards to the highest standards.

·         Conduct regular client site visits to assess operational performance and service quality.

·         Monitor compliance with PNG’s licensing, regulatory requirements at all times.

·         Look for continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the productivity and customer outcomes

Business Development & Growth

·         Maintain, develop and execute business strategies that drive sustainable growth across the country.

·         Identify new market opportunities and continue to look for customers which align with our business objectives.

·         Establish and maintain relationships with clients and industry stakeholders.

·         Support tender submissions, proposals and commercial negotiations.

·         Work collaboratively with the leadership team across the business

Client Relationship Management

·         Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients through regular face-to-face engagement.

·         Conduct business reviews and identify opportunities to expand service offerings for all of our external and internal customers

·         Prioritize any client concerns and deliver high levels of customer satisfaction at all times

·         Drive customer retention and revenue growth across the region.

Financial & Commercial Management

·         Manage budgets, profitability and commercial performance of the business

·         Analyze business trends and implement initiatives to improve financial outcomes.

·         Deliver accurate budgeting and reporting to your senior leadership team.

·         Ensure operational decisions support sustainable commercial growth.

Qualifications & Experience

 ·         Proven experience in senior operations management in a similar business.

·         Demonstrated success in business development, sales growth and client relationship management.

 ·         Strong commercial acumen and experience managing budgets and financial performance.

·         Experience leading diverse and emerging workforces in a similar environment.

·         Strong understanding of compliance, risk management and operational governance.

·         Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.

·         Ability to work independently in a highly mobile role.

·         Current security industry qualifications and licenses are highly regarded but not essential for the role.
