GENERAL MANUFACTURING OPERATOR

Position Summary

The General Manufacturing Operator is an entry-level production position responsible for supporting the safe and efficient manufacture, assembly, packaging, and movement of Wilbar International products. Employees may be assigned to different production areas based on operational and staffing needs, including Packing, Wall Line, Operator Assistant, general production, material handling, and other manufacturing functions. Employees will receive on-the-job training for assigned duties and may be cross-trained in multiple production areas.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Perform assigned production, assembly, packaging, and manufacturing tasks according to established procedures.

· Assist machine operators with loading materials, handling finished products, monitoring production, and other assigned tasks.

· Package, wrap, label, box, stack, and prepare finished products for shipment.

· Assist with Wall Line operations, including handling materials and supporting the fabrication and packaging of pool wall components.

· Move and position materials, products, boxes, and supplies within assigned work areas.

· Load or unload materials from production equipment as trained and authorized.

· Inspect products and materials for visible defects, damage, or quality concerns.

· Notify the supervisor or machine operator of equipment problems, product defects, safety concerns, or production issues.

· Maintain required production pace while following established quality and safety standards.

· Follow work instructions, production schedules, verbal instructions, and established manufacturing procedures.

· Maintain accurate counts and assist with production-related documentation when required.

· Keep assigned workstations and surrounding production areas clean and organized.

· Assist with changeovers, setup, cleanup, and other basic production activities as trained.

· Participate in cross-training and work in different production departments or assignments based on business needs.

· Perform other manufacturing and production-related duties as assigned.

Packing Responsibilities

· Assemble or prepare cartons and packaging materials.

· Place finished products and components into appropriate packaging.

· Wrap and protect products to prevent damage.

· Close and secure cartons using approved tools and equipment.

· Apply required product, shipping, and identification labels.

· Stack completed cartons or products safely on pallets.

· Assist with preparing completed products for movement to shipping or storage.

· Maintain an organized and safe packing area.

Wall Line / Production Support

· Work as part of a production team manufacturing steel or aluminum pool wall components.

· Assist with handling and positioning material during the production process.

· Support machine operators with feeding, receiving, positioning, or removing materials as trained.

· Assist with handling finished coiled wall sections.

· Wrap finished products in protective packaging and place products into cartons.

· Close, secure, and label completed cartons.

· Position completed products on pallets or skids.

· Use hand trucks or other approved material-handling equipment as trained.

· Perform related production support activities as directed.

Operator Assistant Responsibilities

· Assist machine operators with materials and production activities.

· Stage raw materials, components, packaging, or supplies needed for production.

· Remove finished materials or products from the production area.

· Monitor the work area and communicate potential quality, safety, or equipment concerns.

· Perform basic production tasks under the direction of an experienced operator or supervisor.

· Learn equipment processes and operating procedures as assigned.

· Assist with routine cleanup and basic equipment housekeeping.

· Follow all machine guarding and safety requirements.

Safety & Quality Responsibilities

· Follow all Wilbar International safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.

· Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection, gloves, or other PPE required for the assigned work area.

· Follow machine guarding, lockout/tagout, and other applicable safety requirements.

· Never operate equipment without required training and authorization.

· Immediately report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment, injuries, near misses, or other safety concerns.

· Follow established quality standards and notify supervision of defective or questionable products.

· Maintain good housekeeping and keep aisles, exits, workstations, and safety equipment accessible.

· Participate in required safety, quality, and job-specific training.

Qualifications

· Entry-level position; previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.

· High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

· Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

· Ability and willingness to learn manufacturing processes and equipment.

· Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment.

· Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

· Dependable attendance and punctuality.

· Ability to maintain attention to quality and safety while performing repetitive production tasks.

· Willingness and ability to work in different production areas based on operational needs.

· Willingness to participate in cross-training.

Physical Requirements / Essential Physical Functions

The physical requirements below are representative of those associated with performing the essential functions of this position. Wilbar International will consider reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals in accordance with applicable law.

· Regularly lift and/or move items weighing up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.

· Use team lifting, mechanical assistance, or appropriate material-handling equipment for heavier or awkward loads.

· Stand and walk for extended periods during the work shift.

· Frequently bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, grasp, twist, and perform repetitive hand and arm movements.

· Frequently handle materials, products, boxes, components, and production supplies.

· Safely push or pull carts, hand trucks, pallets, or other approved material-handling equipment as required.

· Work around manufacturing machinery and moving equipment.

· Perform repetitive production and packaging activities throughout the workday.

· Wear required PPE while working in designated production areas.

· Work in conditions that may include noise, dust, heat, cold, and temperature variations typical of a manufacturing environment.

· Maintain the ability to safely perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Work Environment

This position works in an active manufacturing and warehouse environment. Employees may be exposed to moving machinery, industrial equipment, elevated noise levels, dust, temperature variations, and other conditions typical of manufacturing operations. Work assignments may change based on production requirements. Employees may be transferred or temporarily assigned between production areas for training, staffing, workflow, or operational needs.

Training

Wilbar International will provide appropriate on-the-job training for assigned production duties. Employees must successfully complete required safety and job-specific training before independently performing tasks requiring specialized equipment or machinery. Cross-training may be provided to develop employees' ability to work in multiple areas of the manufacturing operation.

Pay: $17.00 per hour
