General Operative - Steel Erection and Cladding

Dolan Engineering is currently seeking a General Operative for Steel Erection & Cladding to join our growing team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hardworking, reliable individual who is interested in developing a career within the steel erection, cladding and construction industry.

The Role

Working as part of an experienced team on sites throughout Galway and the midlands, you will assist with the erection of structural steelwork, secondary steelwork installation of cladding and a range of general construction duties.

Key responsibilities include:

• Assisting with the erection and installation of structural steelwork
• Fitting of secondary steelwork such as railings, platforms, stairs, etc.
• Assisting with roof and wall cladding installation
• Loading, unloading and moving materials safely around site
• Using hand and power tools
• Assisting experienced steel erectors and cladding operatives
• Working at height and from access equipment where trained and authorised
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
• Following all company and site health & safety procedures
• Carrying out general construction duties as required

What We're Looking For

• Previous construction, steel erection or cladding experience is an advantage
• Full training will be provided for the right candidate
• Safe Pass required
• Manual Handling Certificate required
• Welding experience an advantage
• MEWP / IPAF, CSCS or other relevant tickets are an advantage
• Good understanding of health and safety
• Comfortable working at height and outdoors
• Physically fit and capable of manual work
• Reliable, punctual and hardworking
• Good team player with a positive attitude
• Willingness to learn and develop new skills
