Job Summary

McKinney Excavating is an excavation and site development company providing expert services in grading, land clearing, excavation, and full-site preparation. We take pride in our equipment, our crews, and the quality of work we deliver throughout East Tennessee.

We’re looking for an experienced Dozer / Trackhoe Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate is a skilled operator who takes pride in their work, understands the importance of precision and safety, and can work effectively as part of a professional site-development crew.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate dozers, trackhoes/excavators, and other heavy equipment
• Perform grading, excavation, land clearing, site preparation, and related earthwork
• Read and follow site plans, grade stakes, and directions from foremen and supervisors
• Perform fine grading and maintain proper slopes, elevations, and drainage
• Load, move, and place dirt, rock, and other materials as required
• Conduct daily equipment inspections and identify maintenance or repair needs
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas
• Work safely around other heavy equipment, trucks, utilities, and crew members
• Communicate effectively with foremen, truck drivers, laborers, and other operators
• Follow all company safety policies and job-site procedures
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Perform additional duties as needed to support the crew and project

Requirements

• Previous experience operating dozers, trackhoes/excavators, or similar heavy equipment
• Experience in excavation, grading, site development, or land clearing preferred
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently with attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and work independently when needed
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from job sites
• Willingness to perform general job-site duties when needed
