General Operator/Mechanical Assembler

Position Summary: As an ABEC Mechanical Assembler you will perform mechanical assembly of products using a variety or tools and equipment according to requirements, training is provided for applicants with the ability to learn and develop mechanical skills.

Responsibilities: Working with hand tools, manufacturing equipment and measuring devices.

Work on stainless steel product, including but not limited to:

• Cutting tube, Operate hand grinders.
• Polishing and cleaning stainless steel products.
• Mechanical Assembly activity.

Attention to detail and accuracy in assembly process.

Operate overhead crane and/or forklift. (training provided)

Inspect and maintain proper and safe operation of all shop equipment.

Conduct operations in a safe manner.

Execute other tasks as assigned.

Ability to travel when required.

Qualifications: Junior certificate or equivalent.

Experience working in a workshop or mechanical environment is an advantage.

Ability to read tape measure and perform simple mathematical equations.

Ability to read basic drawings and build product to specification.

Proficient with the use of hand tools and basic fabrication tools.
