Simpson Health Centre

Located at Yallambie, approximately 40 minutes north-east of Melbourne CBD.  It is predominantly a Forces Command training base, supporting the Defence Force School of Signals (tri-service technicians and operators, including electronic warfare systems), the Defence Force School of Music (tri-service musicians), and the Army Education Centre.  The Army base services approximately 6,000 Defence members and operates a 9 bed low dependency ward 24/7.  The health centre provides primary medical, nursing, physiotherapy, dental and mental health services.  Standard operating hours are generally 07:30 – 15:30 Monday to Friday.  Shared on-call and morning weekend shifts.

What you’ll do

• Deliver high-quality primary care to Defence members
• Occupational Medicine environment, conducting fitness-for-duty assessments and pre/post-deployment care, in addition to injury management, chronic disease management and preventative health
• Work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary clinical environment where patient wellness is paramount

What you bring

• Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner
• FRACGP, FACRRM or Vocational Registration
• Minimum two years’ GP experience in the last five years in a GP Setting (GPT counts)
• Current CPR certification (HLTAID009)
• Australian Citizenship required (Baseline Security Clearance)
• Commitment to CPD and ethical, patient-centred care
