General Process Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a General Process Engineer to oversee and standardize manufacturing, assembly, and integration processes for complex, high-precision equipment. You will ensure that mechanical tolerances, cleanroom assembly practices, and calibration workflows are optimized for repeatability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

• Process Engineering & Standardization: Develop, document, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for high-precision mechanical assembly, cleanroom protocols, and sub-system integration.
• Tolerance Analysis & Stack-up: Perform rigorous tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure sub-micron mechanical alignment and stability under varying operational loads.
• Root Cause Analysis: Lead troubleshooting efforts for assembly bottlenecks, yield issues, and equipment drift; implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Tooling & Fixture Design: Design specialized assembly jigs, fixtures, and calibration tools required to build ultra-precise machinery.
• New Product Introduction (NPI): Transition equipment designs from R&D prototyping to volume manufacturing, ensuring DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA principles are met.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related fields.

• Experience: 3+ years of experience in process or manufacturing engineering within high-tech industries (e.g., semiconductor capital equipment, precision optics, aerospace, or advanced automation).

• Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo).
  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and metrology instruments (CMM, laser trackers).
  • Experience with cleanroom standards (ISO Class 5-7) and ESD control.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green/Black Belt preferred), and DOE methodologies.
