We’re seeking a hands-on Finance Manager / Senior Accountant to join a successful, family-focused organisation in South Sydney on a 10-month contract, covering a period of parental leave.

This is a stand-alone finance role, giving you full ownership across all aspects of finance. You’ll work closely with the Directors and broader business and play a key role in supporting the organisation’s ongoing success.

The Opportunity
This is a broad, hands-on position where no two days will necessarily be the same. You’ll be responsible for:

• Managing the month-end close
• Journals and reconciliations
• Management reporting
• Cash flow management and forecasting
• Capital expenditure and controls
• Oversight of AP, AR and Payroll
• Financial reporting and analysis
• Supporting the Directors with financial insight
• Maintaining strong financial processes and controls
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes
• Working alongside an Accounts Administrator who will support the transactional finance function

You’ll be the go-to person for all things finance, so we're looking for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety and getting stuck into the detail when required.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience managing a finance function independently
• Experience within a similar-sized organisation
• Strong month-end and management reporting experience
• Solid understanding of cash flow and financial controls
• Exposure across AP, AR and Payroll
• A hands-on, practical approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder skills
• The ability to work autonomously and take ownership
• A commercial mindset and willingness to get involved
• The ability to hit the ground running
