A confidential heavy industrial project in Texas is seeking a General Site Superintendent to lead all field construction activities. You will be the senior on-site leader, directing discipline superintendents, subcontractors and craft from early site works through mechanical completion, with full accountability for safety, schedule, quality and cost in the field.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day construction across all disciplines: civil/structural, mechanical, piping, electrical and instrumentation.
• Manage and mentor discipline superintendents and field engineers; set clear daily and weekly priorities.
• Champion a zero-incident safety culture: lead safety meetings, audits, incident investigations and permit-to-work compliance.
• Coordinate subcontractors, deliveries, laydown areas, site logistics and heavy-lift operations.
• Drive the integrated construction schedule; prepare look-aheads, track critical path activities and recover slippage.
• Enforce quality standards and inspection and test plans; work closely with QA/QC on punch lists and turnover packages.
• Interface with engineering, procurement, owner representatives and commissioning teams to resolve field issues quickly.
• Monitor field costs, productivity and manpower; review change orders and support claims documentation.
• Ensure compliance with permits, environmental requirements and site security and confidentiality protocols.
• Report progress, risks and mitigation plans to project leadership.

Qualifications

Required

• 15+ years of construction experience, including 7+ years in a site or general superintendent role.
• Proven track record leading multi-discipline construction on heavy industrial projects.
• Experience managing large field workforces and multiple subcontractors at once.
• Strong command of construction sequencing, scheduling and field cost control.
• Thorough knowledge of OSHA regulations; OSHA 30 certification.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications across all disciplines.
• Excellent leadership, communication and decision-making skills; able to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred (a strong plus)

• Industrial construction experience in minerals processing, chemical, refining, oil and gas, power or manufacturing plants.
• Greenfield plant experience from site preparation through mechanical completion and commissioning support.
• Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or a related field.
• Experience with Primavera P6 and construction management software.

Pay: $60.00 - $100.00 per hour
