General Store Assistant

Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented General Store Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional customer service, assist with product merchandising, and support daily store operations. Familiarity with POS systems a plus. Suitable for candidates with strong communication skills and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs
• Operate POS systems for transactions, including cash handling, processing payments and closing of till at the end of the shift
• Maintain organized merchandise displays and ensure products are well-stocked and properly labeled
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and offering product recommendations
• Manage inventory levels, perform stock replenishment, and assist with merchandising strategies
• Handle cashiering duties accurately, including cash handling and balancing registers at shift end
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment to ensure a welcoming shopping experience
• Demonstrate time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills in English
• Previous retail sales or customer service experience preferred; familiarity with merchandising, POS systems, and cash handling is a plus
• Basic math skills for transactions and inventory management
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple responsibilities
• Demonstrated time management skills to meet daily operational goals
