Position Overview

Sun Country Builders is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to provide leadership, oversight, and strategic direction for field operations. This role ensures projects are executed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget and in accordance with company quality standards throughout all phases of construction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for assigned construction projects.
• Conduct site visits to ensure compliance with plans, schedules, budgets, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Support project teams in resolving construction issues and code-related challenges.
• Maintain project schedules and monitor labor productivity.
• Directly supervise Superintendents and Assistant Superintendents.
• Conduct performance reviews, mentoring, and training for field personnel.
• Support recruiting, onboarding, and development of field staff.
• Provide preconstruction expertise related to logistics, scheduling, subcontractor selection, and constructability.
• Attend owner and subcontractor meetings as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, SWPPP, IIPP, and company safety standards.
• Oversee turnover, punch list completion, and warranty support activities.
• Recommend process improvements, best practices, and emerging construction technologies.
• Provide regular project status updates to executive leadership.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible construction supervision experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction operations, scheduling, quality control, safety, and subcontractor management.
• Thorough understanding of OSHA regulations, SWPPP requirements, and applicable building codes.
• Proven leadership and team management experience.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multifamily and affordable housing construction.
• Experience overseeing multiple project sites simultaneously.
• Knowledge of emerging construction technologies and best practices.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Construction Administration, Engineering, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience may be considered.

Physical Requirements

• Frequent travel to active construction sites.
• Ability to walk uneven terrain and perform site inspections.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb as required.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
