𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗲: General Surgery Advisor

Fruit Street Health is seeking an experienced General Surgery Advisor to provide clinical and strategic guidance as the company continues expanding its virtual healthcare platform. This opportunity is ideal for board-certified or board-eligible general surgeons with expertise in perioperative care, minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, abdominal surgery, hernia repair, trauma, surgical quality improvement, enhanced recovery protocols, healthcare technology, AI, digital health, and innovation.

As a General Surgery Advisor, you will provide valuable insight into surgical workflows, patient care pathways, clinical best practices, healthcare technology adoption, and opportunities to improve outcomes through digital health solutions. This flexible, remote advisory position is ideal for surgeons who are passionate about improving patient care, expanding access to high-quality healthcare, and advancing innovation across the healthcare ecosystem.

𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀

• Provide clinical and strategic guidance on initiatives involving perioperative care, surgical optimization, digital health, chronic disease management, patient engagement, healthcare AI, remote monitoring, and virtual care.

• Advise Fruit Street Health on surgeon workflows, clinical relevance, patient care pathways, quality improvement initiatives, and opportunities to enhance healthcare delivery through technology.

• Review new products, clinical initiatives, strategic partnerships, and innovation opportunities from the perspective of practicing general surgeons.

• Offer industry insight, professional expertise, and introductions within hospital systems, ambulatory surgery centers, physician organizations, healthcare technology companies, and surgical societies when appropriate.

• Participate in periodic advisory meetings and provide practical recommendations based on your clinical, operational, and leadership experience.

𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗤𝘂𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀

• MD or DO with experience practicing general surgery.

• Board certification or board eligibility in General Surgery preferred.

• Experience in minimally invasive surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, abdominal surgery, trauma, surgical quality improvement, enhanced recovery protocols, digital health, healthcare AI, medical technology, healthcare leadership, or clinical innovation preferred.

• Strong understanding of surgical workflows, perioperative care, patient safety, physician adoption of new technologies, and healthcare operations.

• Ability to commit approximately 1–2 hours per month to advisory board participation and strategic advisory activities.

This General Surgery Advisor role offers the opportunity to receive equity compensation based on contribution and advisory involvement. Advisors may also have opportunities to participate in future fundraising rounds and support strategic initiatives as Fruit Street Health continues to grow.
