Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Generative AI Software Developer/Engineer to join our Applied Research and Technology (ART) Aerospace Technologies Development Sandbox team.

This role is ideal for a strong Software Engineer with professional or personal project experience in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or Generative AI. You will help design and develop next-generation technologies and innovative solutions for aerospace applications.

The Aerospace Technologies Development Sandbox team focuses on disruptive technology and process improvements that enable faster development cycles, lower total lifecycle costs, reduced technical debt, and greater technology reusability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and execute experiments to accelerate business capabilities using Generative AI.
• Explore and develop AI/ML solutions for safety-critical development environments.
• Design and develop complex software systems and AI-powered applications.
• Deploy and integrate Generative AI and Large Language Model (LLM) solutions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and technology teams.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support across multiple projects.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Take ownership of projects and proactively identify opportunities for innovation and process improvement.
• Rapidly experiment, evaluate results, and iterate toward effective solutions.
• Apply evidence-based approaches and data-driven decision-making to technology development.

Required Qualifications

• Strong software development experience and skills.
• 3+ years of professional experience with Python.
• 2+ years of experience in AI/ML and/or Generative AI.
• Proficiency with Unix/Linux environments.
• Proficiency in Full Stack Development.
• Proven experience developing and delivering complex software systems.
• Understanding of fundamental Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning concepts through professional experience, research, or personal projects.
• Experience deploying Generative AI-powered applications.
• Experience with Large Language Model (LLM) development frameworks, such as LangChain or Haystack.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with large audiences.

Pay: $70.00 - $80.00 per hour
