Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced General Manager – Operations & Supply Chain to lead large-scale bulk material logistics and operational activities across India. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in coal/mineral transportation, rail logistics, road transportation, multi-modal supply chains, quality control, dispatch planning, and yard operations.

The candidate will be responsible for optimizing end-to-end logistics operations, minimizing operational losses, improving dispatch efficiency, and leading regional operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct PAN-India coal and bulk material transportation through rail rakes, road, and multi-modal logistics.
• Plan and monitor end-to-end dispatch and delivery operations.
• Coordinate with railway authorities, transporters, ports, loading points, and delivery locations.
• Monitor quality parameters including GCV, sizing, quantity, and material specifications.
• Ensure effective quality control at loading points and delivery destinations.
• Optimize rake and vehicle dispatch schedules to minimize demurrage, detention, transit losses, and operational delays.
• Monitor inventory, yard management, loading/unloading, and material movement.
• Develop strategies to improve supply-chain efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
• Lead and mentor regional operations, logistics, and yard management teams.
• Track operational KPIs and prepare management reports.
• Identify supply-chain risks and implement corrective measures.
• Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Indian Railways and port authorities.

Desired Profile

• 15–20 years of relevant experience in bulk material supply chain, mining logistics, coal transportation, or heavy industrial operations.
• Proven experience managing large-scale coal/mineral logistics operations.
• Strong understanding of railway rake movement, road logistics, ports, yards, and multi-modal transportation.
• Established professional network and working relationships with Indian Railways and port authorities.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, planning, and team-management skills.
• Excellent understanding of logistics cost optimization and operational efficiency.
• Willingness to undertake PAN-India travel as required.

Education

Mandatory:

• B.Tech / B.E. – Mechanical / Mining / Industrial Engineering
• MBA – Supply Chain Management / Operations preferred
