Geodetic Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Surveying & Layout Works

• Conduct topographic, boundary, and construction surveys
• Perform staking/layout for roads, drainage, utilities, and lot boundaries
• Establish horizontal and vertical control points (benchmarks)

2. Site Verification & Measurements

• Verify project coordinates, elevations, and alignments
• Ensure actual site conditions match design plans
• Conduct as-built surveys after construction

3. Instrument Operation

• Operate and manage surveying equipment such as:

-Total Station

-GNSS/GPS receivers

-Automatic/Digital Levels

• Ensure proper calibration and accuracy of instruments

4. Data Processing & Mapping

• Process survey data using software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D)

• Generate:

• Topographic maps

• Lot plans

• As-built drawings

5. Coordination with Engineering Team

• Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and contractors
• Provide accurate survey data for design and construction decisions

6. Documentation & Reporting

• Prepare survey reports, field notes, and technical documents
• Maintain records of control points and survey results

7. Quality Control & Accuracy Assurance

• Ensure all survey work meets required tolerances and project specifications
• Double-check measurements and calculations

8. Safety Compliance on Site

• Follow safety procedures during fieldwork
• Ensure safe setup of instruments (especially near roads, excavations, and heavy equipment)
• Use proper PPE (helmet, vest, safety shoes)

9. Problem Solving & Field Adjustments

• Resolve discrepancies between plans and actual site conditions
• Adjust layouts as needed in coordination with the design team

Minimum Job Qualifications

1.Education

• Bachelor's degree in Geodetic Engineering.
• Master's degree is a plus.

2. Professional Licenses/Certifications

• Licensed Geodetic Engineer (GE)
• Safety-related certifications (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH, or local HSE certification) are an advantage.

3. Experience

• Minimum of 1 year experience.
• Proven experience in conducting Topographic Survey
