Geological Engineer

Main duties: Design and oversee the execution of all geological projects. Develop technical studies related to soil resistance before commencing construction. Adapt work to the soil type. Responsibilities: Consider any risks that could compromise the achievement of assigned objectives and implement appropriate actions to address risks and opportunities impacting compliance with requirements, and evaluate the effectiveness of actions taken. Conduct site reconnaissance and geological surveys. Develop geological cross-sections based on surface survey sheets and supplementary exploratory boreholes. Verify supplementary boreholes. Monitor laboratory tests. Archive laboratory documents. Analyze and write reports and make recommendations for new construction projects. Participate in the design, development, and testing of computer applications related to the field. Program and implement borehole drilling operations. Interpret geological test results. Participate in the development of project monitoring frameworks. Prepare and verify quarry face survey sheets. Explore construction material deposits and select suitable materials. Develop monitoring control procedures. Review monitoring plans. Calculate deposit reserves (gates). Prepare geological reports and maps. Conduct ongoing research in the field of earth, soil, and subsoil studies. Identify and mitigate potential risks and hazards, particularly landslides. Perform any tasks assigned by management related to the activity. Regarding QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment): Respect and enforce general safety instructions and rules in force within the Company and the Project. Ensure the application of procedures and rules outlined in the Integrated Management System. Contribute to raising worker awareness of occupational and environmental risk prevention. Ensure the provision and use of appropriate collective and individual protective equipment (CPE and PPE). Raise awareness of the process approach and the risk-based approach. Capitalize on all feedback, determine the need to review the planned arrangements, and share the acquired or modified knowledge with colleagues.
