Geotechnical Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

(1) Verify site compliance with geotechnical design requirements, including bearing capacity, ground improvement, differential settlement under dynamic loading, overall settlement, slope stability, and drainage and dewatering requirements. Identify and assess site geotechnical risks.

(2) Inspect and sign off on excavation safety, foundation formation levels, and ground conditions. Confirm that groundwater levels, soil stiffness, bearing capacity, and other relevant conditions meet the design requirements before placing blinding or foundation concrete.

(3) Inspect and formally approve the final formation layer and backfill installation for wind turbine generator (WTG) foundations, confirming compliance with the foundation design requirements. Review necessary over-excavation, replacement fill, and formation treatment measures.

(4) Verify ground parameters critical to the foundation design through site testing, and verify relevant backfill parameters before and during compaction.

(5) Prepare foundation base inspection reports covering geological profiles exposed in excavation sidewalls, groundwater conditions, formation levels and soil descriptions, allowable bearing capacity, differential settlement, and other relevant observations.

(6) Determine the required safe horizontal distances between spoil or stockpile areas and WTG foundations or critical infrastructure to prevent slope instability.

Qualifications and Requirements:

A.Must be a graduate of a Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or other related fields.

B. Must have at least five (5) years of relevant work experience, including a minimum of three (3) years of on-site experience in similar construction projects.

C. Licensed Engineer is preferred.

D. Must be dedicated exclusively to the project and stationed on-site throughout the entire construction period.

E. Must demonstrate a responsible, proactive, and professional attitude; comply with project work arrangements; and effectively perform geotechnical inspections, technical communications, and site coordination activities.

F. Must be willing to work and be assigned in the Province of Camarines Sur, Bicol Region, Philippines.
