Since its founding in 1994, the company has successfully completed over 7,000 projects, ranging from residential to high-rise commercial and municipal developments. Our team of about 30 to 35 staff members includes licensed geotechnical engineers, civil engineers, geologists, field and laboratory technicians, and administrative staff collectively dedicated to delivering practical, cost-effective solutions with exceptional service.

At this time, we are looking externally for an engineer local to the area that will be a good fit for our team and is up for the challenge of being a Project Manager at Romig Engineers. An ideal candidate would be someone who has previous experience working on residential, municipal, and commercial projects in the Bay Area.
Job Summary

o Manage the project scope, schedule, and budget from authorization through delivery, which includes
- Managing the site subsurface investigation and laboratory testing programs
- Conducting site reconnaissance for projects with challenging site conditions and/or evaluating signs and causes of distress
- Supervision and logging of subsurface exploration for more complicated projects
- Performing geotechnical analyses and design of shallow and deep foundations, embankments and cuts, earth retaining systems, pavement, landslide repair, and geotechnical aspects of other site features for residential, commercial, and municipal projects
- Performing long-term and seismic related settlement and slope stability analyses, and developing seismic design parameters
o Providing geotechnical support during design and construction phases, including value engineering with the design team for alternative cost-effective solutions.
o Work with junior engineering and geology staff to develop and mentor their development
o Work with licensed geologists on projects that include a geologic component
o Work with principal engineers to develop technically and align with the firm’s strategy
o Develop new and maintain existing client relationships
Ideal Candidate
o California EIT registration with the ability to obtain CA PE, but preferably current CA PE registration
o 4+ years of California progressively increasing geotechnical experience, including field and project management experience
o Knowledge of Bay Area practices and local geology; hillside and sloping-site experience a plus
o B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering with geotechnical engineering emphasis
o Strong leadership and decision-making skills
o Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
o Self-motivated with strong interest in career advancement
o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
