PRIME FUNCTION

To support the Quality Assurance function in ensuring that products and processes meet defined quality standards by assisting in inspections, documentation, analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description / Responsibilities

• Assist in incoming, in-process, and final inspection activities.
• Support preparation and maintenance of quality documentation (SOPs, Control Plans, Inspection Reports, etc.).
• Participate in root cause analysis for quality issues using tools like 7QC, Why-Why analysis, Fishbone diagram.
• Monitor process parameters and report deviations.
• Support implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate with production and engineering teams for quality improvements.
• Assist in internal audits and compliance activities (ISO/IATF standards).
• Maintain records related to quality checks and testing.
• Support customer complaint analysis and resolution tracking.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives like Kaizen, Lean, and 5S

AUTHORITY

• Authority to stop production in case of major quality deviations (with supervisor approval).
• Authority to recommend corrective actions for quality issues.
• Authority to verify and approve inspection reports under guidance.
• Authority to escalate unresolved quality concerns to senior quality personnel.

JOB SPECIFICATION / COMPETENCY

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Industrial Engineering (or equivalent)

Technical Skills

• Basic knowledge of quality tools (7QC tools, SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP)
• Understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T
• Familiarity with measuring instruments (Vernier, Micrometer, Height Gauge, etc.)
• Knowledge of quality standards (ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 preferred)
