Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and optimize GIS databases to ensure accurate and accessible geospatial data management.
• Conduct land surveying activities using GPS technology and integrate survey data into GIS platforms for comprehensive analysis.
• Create detailed maps and visualizations using GIS software such as ArcGIS, incorporating cartography best practices for clarity and impact.
• Perform spatial analysis to support project planning, construction management, and environmental assessments.
• Write scripts using Python, JavaScript, or other GIS programming languages to automate workflows, develop APIs, and enhance mapping functionalities.
• Manage relational databases and utilize SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and reporting purposes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project management tasks, ensuring timely delivery of geospatial products and solutions.
• Collect field data using GPS devices and coordinate with land surveyors to ensure high-quality data collection standards.
• Support the development of GIS applications and dashboards on platforms like SharePoint or other web-based tools for stakeholder engagement.
• Lead efforts in geospatial data visualization using CAD tools like AutoCAD alongside GIS software to produce comprehensive mapping outputs for construction or infrastructure projects.

Experience

• Proven experience working with GIS software such as ArcGIS or similar platforms in a professional setting.
• Strong background in land surveying techniques, GPS data collection, and CAD drafting processes.
• Demonstrated ability to develop GIS databases from scratch and manage large datasets effectively.
• Proficiency in scripting languages including Python, JavaScript, or SQL for automation and API development.
• Experience with database management systems like relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of cartography principles, geospatial data visualization techniques, and mapping software tools.
• Familiarity with geospatial analysis skills such as spatial querying, analysis modeling, and data interpretation.
• Project management experience with the ability to lead initiatives from conception through implementation while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Construction or civil engineering experience is a plus, especially related to infrastructure projects requiring precise mapping and data collection standards.

Pay: $69,400.00 - $83,700.00 per year
