Role & responsibilities

Role Purpose

Support the GIS Lead in maintaining and enhancing GTPL's GIS platform, ensuring accurate, updated and usable network data for network planning, field operations and network management.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update FTTH network GIS data, including POPs, fiber routes, OLTs, FDT/FAT/FDH, ONTs and other network assets.
• Ensure accurate mapping and connectivity of network infrastructure.
• Process and validate GIS data received from field, network planning and operations teams.
• Support network planning and deployment teams with GIS-based route and feasibility analysis.
• Identify and correct data gaps, mapping errors and inconsistencies.
• Support integration and reconciliation of GIS data with other network and operational systems.
• Prepare GIS reports, maps and analysis required by corporate and regional teams.
• Support automation of repetitive GIS activities and improve data-update workflows.
• Maintain GIS data standards and ensure compliance with defined data quality and governance processes.
• Provide technical support to regional GIS/field teams wherever required.
• Work closely with the GIS Lead on GIS enhancements, automation, integrations and new technology initiatives.
• Coordinate with GIS technology vendors for issue resolution and technical requirements.

Ideal Candicdate

• Experience with telecom network GIS and fiber mapping.
• Good understanding of FTTH network architecture and telecom infrastructure.
• Proficiency in GIS tools and spatial databases.
• Experience in data validation, mapping and GIS analysis.
• Basic understanding of APIs, system integration and GIS automation will be an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
• Ability to work with multiple teams including Network Planning, NOC, Field Operations and IT.
