GIS Technical Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically capable GIS Technical Analyst to join our team.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, quality, and integrity of GIS data, processing CAD drawings into Geodatabase (GDB) formats, and supporting enterprise GIS system operations. You will also review underground utility mapping and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) reports to ensure compliance with project requirements and technical standards.

Working closely with Land Surveyors, internal technical teams, GPR administrators, and Esri Support, you will help maintain reliable GIS data and systems while supporting efficient data integration, troubleshooting, and continuous system improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) on CAD drawings received from Land Surveyors to ensure compliance with client requirements, technical standards, and project specifications.
• Process and convert CAD drawings into Geodatabase (GDB) data, including data analysis, editing, validation, and publishing to GIS systems.
• Process and transform CAD and GIS data using Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) tools to support data integration, conversion, and workflow automation.
• Review and perform QA/QC on underground utility mapping and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) reports prepared by the GPR Administration team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
• Provide GIS technical support and troubleshoot enterprise GIS systems by investigating and resolving system, application, and data-related issues.
• Collaborate closely with Esri Support and internal technical teams to proactively troubleshoot system issues, coordinate technical resolutions, optimize system performance, and ensure the stability, reliability, and smooth operation of enterprise GIS systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation of GIS data processing procedures, quality checks, technical issues, and resolutions.
• Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure GIS deliverables meet project timelines, quality standards, and technical requirements.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Geography, Land Surveying, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in GIS data processing, CAD drawing QA/QC, spatial data management, or GIS technical support will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with GIS software and enterprise GIS platforms, particularly Esri ArcGIS.
• Understanding of CAD drawing formats, Geodatabase (GDB), spatial data structures, coordinate systems, and data validation processes.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and workflows for GIS data conversion, transformation, and integration is an advantage.
• Ability to review technical drawings, identify data discrepancies, and perform systematic quality checks.
• Familiarity with underground utility mapping, land surveying deliverables, or Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) reports will be an advantage.
• Good troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
• Good communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, external technical support providers, and project stakeholders.
• A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to manage assigned tasks within project timelines.
