GIS Technician

• Assist in the preparation, processing, and updating of GIS data for various projects.
• Perform digitizing, georeferencing, data encoding, editing, and attribute data management.
• Assist in processing and organizing spatial and non-spatial data.
• Prepare maps, layouts, and other GIS-related outputs based on project requirements.
• Assist in the integration and processing of survey and field data into GIS platforms.
• Conduct field data gathering, site verification, and GPS/GNSS-based data collection when required.
• Assist in analyzing and validating spatial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Coordinate with Geodetic Engineers, engineers, project staff, and other field personnel regarding GIS and mapping requirements.
• Maintain proper organization, documentation, and filing of GIS datasets and project outputs.
• Assist in project mobilization, fieldwork, and other technical requirements as needed.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, data standards, safety protocols, and company procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Geodetic Engineering or a related field.

• Must be a Licensed Geodetic Engineer .

• No prior work experience required.

• Basic knowledge of GIS concepts, mapping, and spatial data is an advantage.

• Familiarity with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar applications is preferred but not required.

• Basic knowledge of GPS/GNSS data collection and surveying is an advantage.

• Willing to undergo training and learn GIS-related software and workflows.

• Willing to perform fieldwork and travel to project sites when necessary.

• Detail-oriented and able to work accurately with spatial and attribute data.

• Good analytical, organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Able to work under minimal supervision and meet project deadlines.
