GL Accountant

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage the full set of general ledger accounting for the U.S. plant in accordance with US GAAP and group accounting policies, including journal entries, accruals, amortization, manufacturing overhead allocation, and period-end adjustments.
2. Independently complete monthly, quarterly, and annual closings to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting; maintain complete audit-ready work papers.
3. Perform reconciliations for fixed assets, inventory, work-in-progress (WIP), accounts receivable/payable, and intercompany balances; identify and resolve discrepancies.
4. Manage the full lifecycle of fixed asset accounting, organize physical asset counts, and assess impairment in compliance with US GAAP.
5. Support inventory counts, review standard cost variances, and ensure inventory valuation complies with applicable accounting standards.
6. Prepare US GAAP financial statements and group reporting packages to support consolidation.
7. Coordinate with external auditors and SOX internal control testing teams; prepare supporting documentation, respond to inquiries, and drive remediation of internal control findings.
8. Collaborate with production, supply chain, and procurement departments to resolve business-financial issues and optimize accounting processes.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
2. 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience; manufacturing industry background preferred, with U.S.-based or chemical sector experience a plus.
3. Solid knowledge of US GAAP, with hands-on experience in inventory, costing, fixed assets, capitalization, and ability to exercise independent accounting judgment.
4. Proficient in SAP ; advanced Excel skills for reconciliation and financial analysis.
5. Working knowledge of SOX internal controls; practical experience in audit coordination.
6. Fluency in English, capable of handling professional communication and financial documentation independently.
7. Detail-oriented, able to work under closing cycle pressure, and possessing strong cross-functional collaboration skills.
