What they need
- Initial / hands-on experience in preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements and consolidation workings.
- Good knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 10, IFRS 3, IAS 28, and IAS 21.
- Solid GL experience, including month-end closing, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Experience in intercompany transactions and eliminations.
- Experience in consolidation adjustments, NCI calculations, and equity movements.
- Experience with group reporting packages and consolidation reporting.
- SAP or other ERP experience would be an advantage.
- Previous audit experience, particularly with consolidated financial statements, would be an added advantage.
- Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
- Coordinate with external auditors to streamline and finalize the audit process.
- Oversee the preparation and submission of financial accounting reports by establishing efficient processes, monitoring, and guiding the accounting team, and reviewing financial reports for accuracy and timeliness.
- Review and providing comprehensive monthly financial reports with in-depth analysis and commentary by conducting detailed analysis of financial data.
- Perform the consolidation process for the group to prepare the full set of financial statements and preparing related reports for the management (segments report, revenue steam level analysis, related ratios and financial indicators)
- Collaborate with consultants on group acquisitions and conduct annual goodwill impairment tests
- Project cash flow and evaluating monthly expenditures by analyzing financial data, collaborating with department managers and the finance manager, and addressing cash flow issues to ensure effective cash management, timely payments, and align expenditure with available resources.
- Build strong partnerships across departments by communicating effectively and aligning financial strategy with business objectives.
