GL Assistant Accountant UK

Summary

General Ledger Accountant responsible for end‑to‑end R2R processes, month‑end close, balance‑sheet reconciliation, fixed assets, sales tax, and payroll reporting while supporting a UK entity.

Responsibilities

• Execute full‑cycle UK accounting, including month‑end close, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, balance‑sheet schedules, and reports.
• Manage fixed‑asset accounting, depreciation, and sales‑tax compliance.
• Perform large‑scale data analysis across multiple sources and recommend corrective actions.
• Drive end‑to‑end Record‑to‑Report (R2R) activities and ensure timely delivery of reports.
• Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve accounting issues and close gaps.
• Maintain and update GL documentation, policies, and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years of full‑cycle GL experience (minimum 10 years overall).
• Proven expertise in month‑end reconciliation and accruals.
• Advanced Excel skills including PowerPivot, Power Query, lookups, and pivots.
• Strong communication and time‑management abilities.
• Self‑directed with capability to prioritize multiple tasks and drive issues to closure.
• Experience with SAP (or Vision/Sage Fixed Assets) and QuickBooks.

Nice to have

• Hands‑on experience with Vision or Sage Fixed Assets.
• Experience using Power BI or similar data‑visualization tools.
