Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Glass Installer to join our team.

The successful candidate will work on commercial projects throughout the GTA, installing and servicing aluminum storefronts, curtain wall systems, commercial glass, aluminum entrance doors, and commercial door hardware.

We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently and as part of a crew, can accurately measure and install materials on site, and understands proper commercial glazing and door installation methods.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial aluminum storefront framing and glass.
• Install curtain wall framing and glazing systems.
• Install aluminum entrance doors and frames.
• Install tempered glass, insulated glass units, laminated glass, mirrors, back-painted glass, and other commercial glazing products.
• Install frameless glass doors and glass partitions.
• Install and adjust commercial door hardware, including closers, panic devices, hinges, pivots, continuous hinges, thresholds, sweeps, and related hardware.
• Remove and replace existing glass, doors, frames, and hardware.
• Measure openings accurately for glass, aluminum framing, doors, and related materials.
• Read and understand shop drawings, architectural drawings, measurements, and work orders.
• Properly level, shim, anchor, fasten, glaze, and seal aluminum frames and glass.
• Perform silicone and caulking work.
• Troubleshoot and repair commercial doors, aluminum entrances, storefronts, glazing systems, and door hardware.
• Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and access equipment safely.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Follow all company and job-site safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in commercial glazing, aluminum storefront, curtain wall, or commercial door installation is preferred.
• Experience installing aluminum doors and frames.
• Experience installing and adjusting commercial door hardware is an asset.
• Ability to accurately use a tape measure, level, laser level, drills, saws, grinders, and other installation tools.
• Ability to read shop drawings and installation details.
• Comfortable working with large and heavy glass.
• Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and with a crew.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Valid driver’s licence is preferred.
• Must follow all applicable health and safety requirements.

Work Type

Full-time, in-person commercial installation work throughout Toronto and the GTA.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$40.00 per hour
