Glazing Construction Estimator

Job Summary
We’re looking for a detail-oriented Estimator with strong blueprint reading skills to join our busy glass company. This role is critical to our operations, supporting residential, commercial, and specialty glazing projects by producing accurate, competitive estimates based on drawings, specifications, and real-world site conditions.

This is not a basic quoting role — the ability to confidently read, interpret, and extract scope from architectural and shop drawings is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and quotes for glass installation and replacement projects
• Read and interpret architectural drawings, blueprints, and specifications to accurately determine scope, materials, and labor requirements
• Perform takeoffs directly from drawings, including dimensions, glass types, hardware, and installation methods
• Analyze site conditions and project requirements to ensure accurate pricing
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and suppliers to clarify drawings and project details
• Assist project managers with budgeting, timelines, and scope alignment
• Maintain organized records and follow up on bids to help secure work

Ideal Candidate

• Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings and blueprints (required)
• Experience estimating in glass, glazing, or construction (glass strongly preferred)
• Strong math and analytical skills with attention to detail
• Proficiency with estimating software and/or spreadsheets
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Highly organized with strong follow-through
• Reliable, punctual, and client-focused
