Job Summary

Dynamic Glass is seeking an experienced Glazing Field Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day field execution of commercial glazing and curtain wall projects across multiple job sites within an assigned region. This role is the primary on-site authority for schedule, safety, quality, and crew performance, acting as the critical link between project management, glazing crews, general contractors, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate has hands-on glazing experience, has led crews on complex commercial installations, and can travel between active projects as work demands.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Site Oversight

  • Serve as the on-site lead for all assigned glazing projects, coordinating daily field activities across storefront, curtain wall, window wall, and structural glazing installations.
  • Travel between multiple active job sites to monitor progress, resolve field issues, and ensure consistent execution across crews.
  • Review project drawings, shop drawings, and specifications to plan sequencing, material staging, and manpower needs.
  • Coordinate directly with general contractors, project managers, other trades, and inspectors to keep installations on schedule and free of conflicts.
  • Track daily progress against the project schedule and escalate delays, material shortages, or design conflicts before they impact the critical path.

Crew Supervision & Safety

  • Supervise, schedule, and mentor glaziers, foremen, and installation crews across assigned sites, including hiring input and performance feedback.
  • Enforce company safety policies and OSHA regulations on every site, including fall protection, scaffold/swing stage use, rigging, and glass handling procedures.
  • Lead toolbox talks, jobsite safety inspections, and incident investigations; maintain a zero-incident safety culture.
  • Ensure crews have the correct tools, equipment, PPE, and materials to perform installations safely and efficiently.

Quality Control & Documentation

  • Inspect completed glazing work for compliance with contract drawings, specifications, and manufacturer installation standards.
  • Identify and correct installation deficiencies before turnover; manage punch-list completion.
  • Maintain accurate daily field reports, manpower logs, photos, and progress documentation for each site.
  • Track material deliveries, tool/equipment inventory, and jobsite conditions across multiple projects.

Qualifications

Experience & Education

  • 5+ years of hands-on commercial glazing experience, including curtain wall, storefront, and/or window wall systems.
  • 3+ years in a field supervisory or superintendent role leading glazing crews on commercial projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple concurrent job sites or projects.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant trade certifications or apprenticeship completion preferred.

Certifications & Requirements

  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification (required or must obtain within 60 days of hire).
  • Aerial/scissor lift and swing stage certification, or willingness to obtain.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record; ability to travel regionally, including occasional overnight stays.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and shop drawings.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and communication skills; able to direct crews and coordinate with GCs, PMs, and inspectors under schedule pressure.
  • Working knowledge of glazing materials, sealants, gaskets, anchoring systems, and thermal/moisture barrier requirements.
  • Proficiency with basic scheduling and reporting tools (e.g., Procore, MS Office, or similar).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment when resolving field conflicts or unforeseen conditions.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Regularly work on active construction sites, including exposure to heights, scaffolding, lifts, and swing stages.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver glass panels and materials up to 50 lbs regularly, and assist with heavier lifts as part of a crew.
  • Ability to stand, climb, bend, and work outdoors in varying weather conditions for extended periods.
  • Frequent regional travel by vehicle between job sites, with occasional overnight travel.
