What they need

Medidata | Partners Sales Division | Location: Ireland (Primary / Required) Role Focus: Strategic Growth & Leadership of Top-Tier Global CRO Partnership

About Medidata Medidata is powering smarter treatments and healthier people through digital solutions to support clinical trials. Celebrating 25 years of ground-breaking technological innovation across more than 36,000 trials and 11 million patients, Medidata offers industry-leading expertise, analytics-powered insights, and one of the largest clinical trial data sets in the industry. More than 1 million users trust Medidata's seamless, end-to-end platform to improve patient experiences, accelerate clinical breakthroughs, and bring therapies to market faster.

Position Purpose & Strategic Business Context The life sciences and clinical development platform market is rapidly shifting toward complex, high-value SaaS engagements. Medidata's go-to-market and organizational strategy necessitates a major shift from selling individual point solutions to securing comprehensive, transformational, AI-enabled platform deals with key strategic partners.

The Global Client Executive - Partners is a high-impact executive role responsible for leading, developing, and driving the business strategy for one of Medidata's largest revenue-generating CRO partnerships. To achieve transformational growth, this leader will engage directly with C-suite executives, establish strategic alignment, and create a sense of market urgency (FOMO) around adopting Medidata's full platform capability. Because this strategic partner is headquartered in Ireland, this role requires physical operating proximity in Ireland to facilitate frequent on-site executive collaboration, joint strategic governance, and deep relationship integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • C-Suite & Executive Strategic Leadership: Proactively establish, lead, and nurture executive-level relationships across the CRO partner's senior management and leadership teams. Serve as the primary executive liaison and strategic client lead for Medidata.
  • Transformational Platform Growth: Drive multi-year, transformational growth strategies that shift the partner's model from point-solution transactions to deep adoption of Medidata's full AI-enabled clinical trial platform across their global portfolio.
  • Joint Business Strategy & Plan Execution: Proactively develop, execute, and govern jointly aligned partner business plans. Define strategic growth targets, go-to-market initiatives, and value creation models that capitalize on mutual market strengths.
  • Creating Customer Value & Sense of Urgency: Leverage a growth mindset and deep domain expertise to articulate Medidata's unique value proposition, creating strategic urgency and competitive differentiation for the CRO partner.
  • Global Matrix Orchestration: Direct and coordinate global cross-functional resources across Sales, Pre-Sales, Operations, Product Leadership, and Professional Services to ensure seamless delivery, operational alignment, and high partner satisfaction.
  • On-Site Partnership Presence: Maintain frequent on-site engagement at the partner's headquarters in Ireland, leading executive business reviews, strategic governance meetings, and joint pursuit planning sessions.
  • CRO Program Development & Ecosystem Alignment: Drive global adoption of Medidata technologies within partner network programs, ensuring compliance with program guidelines while maximizing market leverage for both organizations.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

  • Enterprise Software & Alliance Sales Experience: 10-15+ years of demonstrable, top-tier success in complex enterprise SaaS/software sales, strategic alliance management, or partner sales leadership within the Life Sciences or Clinical R&D technology sector.
  • Executive & C-Suite Influence: Proven track record of building trust, leading discussions, and negotiating complex platform deals with C-suite executives and senior leaders at major global CROs or Life Sciences organizations.
  • Strategic & Growth Mindset: Exceptional capacity to think logically, strategically, and tactically to solve multi-faceted commercial problems, build tailored customer business strategies, and drive transformational change.
  • Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of the Clinical Trials R&D landscape, clinical systems environments, Sponsor/CRO outsourcing paradigms, and enterprise SaaS platform integration.
  • Geographical Proximity & Base Location: Must be based in Ireland (or located within close physical proximity to the partner's Irish headquarters) to enable regular on-site collaboration and executive availability.
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences, Computer Science, Engineering, or Business required; Master's Degree or Advanced Degree preferred.
  • Global Team Leadership: Proven ability to work autonomously, lead through influence, and direct remote, distributed cross-functional teams in a fast-paced global matrix environment.
  • Communication Skills: Superior written, verbal, and executive presentation capabilities.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses. Medidata believes that benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most and provides benefits.
