Global Controller - Cyprus based

AKT is looking for a Global Controller who will serve as the Controller of AKT’s Cyprus entity. This role wil be responsible for its accounting and financial operations, and will also oversee the company’s accounting and financial operations globally across AKT Global and its subsidiaries ensuring accurate financial records and reporting and compliance with statutory requirements. This is a hands-on, non-managerial role, reporting directly to the company’s CFO.

This is a full-time position available to candidates based in Cyprus. The role is mostly remote, with occasional on-site presence required when needed.

Role and Key Responsibilities:

· Serve as the Controller of AKT Cyprus, owning its full accounting cycle, statutory reporting, and compliance with local tax and regulatory requirements.

· Supervise and review AKT Global’s accounting and bookkeeping performed by external accountants, including day-to-day cash flow review.

· Review local payroll and PAYE filings.

· Serve as the primary point of contact for external advisors and stakeholders (including banks, accountants, company secretary, lawyers, auditors and authorities) in Cyprus.

· Coordinate and review month-end and year-end closing and reporting with the external accountants.

· Manage cross-border transactions and intercompany billing and reconciliations to ensure compliance with the Transfer Pricing study.

· Oversee global subsidiaries’ accounting.

· Review and oversee the preparation of the group entities' financial statements in accordance with the applicable local GAAP.

· Manage the annual external audit process.

· Facilitate and assist with board meetings (agenda preparation, minutes, etc.).

· Ensure group-wide corporate compliance, including filings, deadlines, resolutions and statutory registers.

· Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

Job Requirements:

· Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or ACCA

· Big 4 audit experience – an advantage

· 2+ years of experience as a Controller or in a senior accounting role in a global company

· Proficient with Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., Xero or equivalent)

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in English

· Strong knowledge of IFRS

· Experience with US GAAP and US companies – an advantage

· Knowledge of Cyprus tax and statutory requirements

· Familiarity and understanding of transfer pricing models and international tax planning – advantage
