Job Overview

As a GM Certified Technician, you’ll inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair GM vehicles, helping drivers get back on the road safely and confidently. You’ll use automotive diagnostics, service information, and repair tools to identify issues and complete work accurately. This hands-on role suits a technician with automotive repair industry experience, strong mechanical knowledge, and a commitment to clear, helpful customer service.

Duties

• Diagnose and repair GM vehicle mechanical, electrical, and powertrain systems, including diesel engines, transmissions, suspension, shocks and struts, and brakes.
• Perform vehicle maintenance and routine services such as oil changes, tire service, and alignment; inspect air brake systems where applicable.
• Use schematics, hand tools, and power tools to troubleshoot automotive electrical systems and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS).
• Complete repairs, document findings, and support auto estimating; perform welding or heavy equipment mechanics work when relevant to the assignment.
• Communicate repair needs and service updates clearly to customers and teammates.

Skills

• Essential: Mechanic experience, automotive service or dealership experience, and demonstrated ability in automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems repair, and vehicle maintenance.
• Essential: Practical knowledge of GM vehicles, diesel mechanics, transmissions, powertrain, brake repair, suspension, and automotive suspension system repair.
• Essential: Ability to read schematics and safely use hand tools and power tools.
• Preferred: Experience with ADAS, air brakes, alignment, tire service, shocks and struts, oil changes, welding, or heavy equipment mechanics.
• Preferred: Familiarity with auto estimating and a customer-focused approach to automotive repair and mechanical repair.

Pay: $38.00 - $52.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
