Due to an exciting evolution of the business structure, we're seeking a General Manager – Operations to join the senior leadership team. Reporting directly to the Directors and working alongside the General Manager – Commercial, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the business continues to operate efficiently, profitably, and sustainably as it enters its next phase of growth. This is a broad role with responsibility across production, warehousing, cafés, administration, finance, HR, and health and safety.

Based in East Auckland, this is a rare opportunity to take on a genuine leadership role, where you can influence strategy without all that comes with an overly corporate environment, and while remaining hands-on and connected to the day-to-day operation of the business.

About the role

As General Manager – Operations, you will be responsible for the internal performance and delivery of the business, ensuring operational functions work together effectively to support customer success and business growth.

In your first 90 days, you’ll be focused on:

• Getting to know our team, systems and processes
• Leading the automation of our sales reporting
• Identifying opportunities for efficiencies and enhancement and planning prioritised projects over the next 12 months

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Leading production, warehousing, logistics and inventory management
• Providing leadership across finance, administration and support functions
• Driving operational efficiency, continuous improvement and quality outcomes
• Providing people leadership and building organisational capability
• Overseeing café operations and performance
• Working closely with the GM – Commercial to ensure customer commitments are delivered successfully
• Leading company-wide Health & Safety systems, compliance and culture

About you

To be successful in this role, you'll bring:

• Operational leadership experience within manufacturing, distribution, foodservice, hospitality or a similar environment, with inventory experience being essential
• Strong commercial and financial acumen, with strong understanding of a P&L and business performance levers
• Proven experience leading diverse teams and building high-performing cultures
• Confidence operating both strategically and operationally
• A practical, solutions-focused approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves when required
• A genuine passion for people leadership, continuous improvement and business performance
• Strong MS Excel skills
