GM R&D Smart Manufacturing

Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Materials/Metallurgy, Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or related field); Master’s preferred.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in R&D / Product Development / Manufacturing Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years in GM / Senior Head / equivalent R&D leadership role.
• Must have experience in steel pipe/tube, steel forming, or welding manufacturing industry.
• Experience in full-cycle product development to mass production.
• Strong experience in failure analysis, testing, and material engineering.
• Experience in DoE, trials, scale-up, and process stabilization.
• Experience integrating R&D with Smart Manufacturing systems (MES/ERP/data analytics).
• Familiar with steel industry standards (ASTM, API, JIS, ISO, SNI).
• Fluent in English

Responsibilities

• Lead R&D function as key driver of steel pipe product development and product portfolio strategy.
• Define product development direction based on product performance data, market needs, and manufacturing capability.
• Manage end-to-end product development from concept to mass production.
• Make technical decisions based on data (performance, defects, testing, production data).
• Lead failure analysis (weld, dimensional, mechanical, corrosion) for product improvement.
• Develop product specifications based on industry standards (ASTM, API, JIS, ISO, SNI).
• Lead DoE, production trials, and scale-up until production stability.
• Integrate R&D with Smart Manufacturing systems (MES/ERP, production & quality data).
• Conduct technical benchmarking against competitors and global standards.

Responsible for product portfolio management, new product development, enhancement of existing product performance, and Smart Manufacturing implementation through data utilization, digitalization, and advanced manufacturing technologies to improve competitiveness, quality, efficiency, and product value.
