Golf Course Mechanic

St. Charles Country Club is seeking a highly skilled Golf Course Equipment Manager to join the Agronomy Team. This position is responsible for the maintenance, diagnosis, repair, and fabrication of golf course equipment used in a high-performance private club environment.

We are looking for an experienced professional with extensive knowledge of Toro and Jacobsen equipment, reel and rotary mower systems, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, and welding and fabrication. The ideal candidate takes pride in producing tournament-quality equipment and maintaining a safe, efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain Toro and Jacobsen equipment.
• Set up, adjust, and maintain reel mowers to exact cutting specifications.
• Service rotary mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, sprayers, and other related equipment.
• Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, diesel, gasoline, and mechanical systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance programs and maintain service records.
• Grind reels and bed knives and ensure optimal cutting quality.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe equipment maintenance facility.
• Assist with equipment purchasing recommendations, inventory management, and long-term fleet planning.
• Perform vehicle maintenance, small engine maintenance, engine repair, diesel engine repair, and mechanical systems repair.
• Diagnose equipment issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and systematic equipment troubleshooting.
• Complete electrical work, soldering, generator repair, and power generation systems maintenance.
• Use hand tools and power tools to service equipment; maintain accurate records of inspections and repairs.
• Communicate repair needs and equipment status clearly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of golf course equipment manager experience preferred.
• Extensive experience with Toro and Jacobsen equipment
• Strong knowledge of reel mower setup, grinding, and adjustment
• Strong knowledge in diagnosing the root problem, not just changing parts until its fixed
• Mechanic, service technician, or dealership experience is preferred; automotive repair experience is also valuable.
• Demonstrate mechanical knowledge and experience with equipment repair, equipment maintenance, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems.
• Comfortable with manual handling, including heavy lifting, and using hand and power tools safely.
• Practical experience with diesel engines, generators, small engines

Compensation:

Salary: $85,000+
