Job Overview

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Goods In Operative to join our dynamic warehouse team. Tasks:

• To manage the day to day of goods receiving of all parts that comes into the business.
• To take ownership and responsibilities of signing and checking for all goods.
• To check delivery notes against purchase orders.
• To be able to check invoice queries and liaise with the accounts department.
• To liaise closely with the Purchasing team with any issues relating to booking in.
• To be able to kit works orders in a timely manner ready for the production team
• Highlight shortages from purchase orders to the relevant department Team Leader.
• Highlight any discrepancies relating to purchase orders to Purchasing team.
• To support the Spares team with daily tasks. (Picking packing, shipping, highlighting shortage of parts and a small amount of assembly work).
• To be flexible, proactive, and willing to take on other tasks.
• To participate in toolbox activities.
• To be able to work on own initiative and work under pressure.
• Receive, inspect, and book in deliveries against purchase orders and delivery documentation, reporting any shortages or damages.
• Maintain accurate stock records and inventory levels using warehouse or stock management systems.
• Conduct PI (Perpetual Inventory) counts and investigate stock discrepancies to ensure high levels of stock accuracy.
• Lead and support full annual stock takes, ensuring all stock is counted, reconciled, and correctly reported.
• Police warehouse and business storage areas to ensure stock is stored correctly, processes are followed, and housekeeping and health & safety standards are maintained.
• Coordinate with suppliers, warehouse teams, and internal departments regarding stock movements, replenishment, returns, and inventory control.

Experience

• Previous warehouse experience is essential, with a strong background in materials handling and stock management.
• Proven ability to operate forklifts safely; certification is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems such as AS400 or similar platforms.
• Mechanical knowledge or construction experience is advantageous for understanding equipment and handling heavy loads.
• Comfortable performing heavy lifting regularly while maintaining safety standards.
• Experience in shipping & receiving operations, including load & unload procedures, picking & packing processes.
• Knowledge of stock control procedures and the ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced environment.
