Government Relations Director

Role Description The Government Relations Director at مكتب فيصل صالح ابا الخيل للاستشارات الهندسية is a part-time remote role responsible for shaping and advancing the firm’s public policy and regulatory interests. The role involves monitoring relevant legislation and regulatory developments, analyzing their impact on the firm’s engineering and consulting activities, and preparing clear summaries and briefings for leadership. The director will develop and maintain relationships with government bodies, regulatory agencies, and industry associations, and coordinate advocacy efforts that align with the firm’s strategic objectives. Daily tasks include drafting position papers, policy memos, and correspondence, participating in virtual meetings with stakeholders, and advising internal teams on compliance and government engagement strategies. The role also requires collaboration with cross-functional colleagues to ensure that government relations efforts support business development and long-term organizational goals.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in governmental affairs and government relations, with the ability to manage ongoing engagement with public sector entities.
• Demonstrated experience in lobbying and legislative relations, including coordinating advocacy initiatives and building constructive relationships with policymakers.
• Solid understanding of legislation and regulatory processes, with the ability to interpret, assess impact, and communicate implications to non-legal stakeholders.
• Proven ability to develop and execute government relations strategies within engineering, infrastructure, or professional services sectors is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language proficiency is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with a high level of professional integrity.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Law, Political Science, Engineering Management, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
