Academy Governor Opportunities

Are you passionate about education and keen to make a difference in your local community?

Lydiate Learning Trust is seeking a dedicated volunteer to join the Academy Governance Committee at Deyes High School. This is an opportunity to support school leaders, champion high standards and help ensure every child receives the best possible education.

As an Academy Governor, you will work with fellow committee members and school leaders to provide support and challenge, monitor school performance, champion high standards and help ensure that every pupil receives the best possible educational experience.

What we are looking for:

We welcome applications from people with a range of backgrounds and experiences. You do not need previous governance experience as full induction and training will be provided.

We're particularly interested in individuals who can demonstrate:

A commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.

Good listening, communication and teamwork skills.

The ability to provide supportive challenge and ask constructive questions.

Integrity, sound judgement and a commitment to confidentiality.

An interest in education and the local community.

The Commitment That Changes Lives

Time Investment: 3 committee meetings per year, with additional time required to read and review meeting papers. Also participate in annual school visits, max 2-3 requests per year..

Preparation: Documents shared a week in advance through our user-friendly Governor Hub portal

Additional Opportunities: Face-to-face development events and school visits

Compensation: Voluntary role with immeasurable personal rewards
