What they need
About the role
Design, develop, and maintain full-system or module-level functional/performance simulators for GPGPUs (e.g., based on GEM5, QEMU, or in-house frameworks). Model core GPGPU components, including compute units (SIMD Cores, Tensor Cores), on-chip memory subsystems, on-chip interconnects, and schedulers. Enable execution and debugging of workloads using standard GPGPU programming models (e.g., CUDA, OpenCL) within the simulation environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain full-system or module-level functional/performance simulators for GPGPUs (e.g., based on GEM5, QEMU, or in-house frameworks)
- Model core GPGPU components, including compute units (SIMD Cores, Tensor Cores), on-chip memory subsystems, on-chip interconnects, and schedulers
- Enable execution and debugging of workloads using standard GPGPU programming models (e.g., CUDA, OpenCL) within the simulation environment
- Work closely with architecture, compiler, driver, and algorithm teams to validate new architectural features, assess performance bottlenecks, and guide hardware design decisions
- Optimize simulator performance using techniques such as dynamic binary translation, parallel simulation, and approximate modeling to enhance simulation throughput
- Develop and maintain automated regression testing and benchmark suites to ensure simulator accuracy, reliability, and stability
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for internal and external users
About you
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ with solid system-level software development skills
- In-depth understanding of computer architecture, including CPU/GPGPU micro-architecture, memory hierarchies, and parallel computing models
- Experience in simulator/emulator development (e.g., GEM5, QEMU)
- Proficiency with Linux development environments and tools, including Git, Make/CMake, and GDB
- Strong abstraction and problem-decomposition skills
- Strong communication, collaboration, responsibility, and resilience under pressure
