GRADER OPERATOR

About the role

Giovanni Construction is seeking an experienced Grader Operator to join our growing team in Agusan del Sur, Caraga. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our construction operations, ensuring that all grading and levelling work meets the highest standards of quality and safety. As a Grader Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery to prepare and maintain road surfaces, earthworks, and construction sites. This role is essential to the success of our projects and directly contributes to maintaining our reputation for delivering excellence in construction.

Key responsibilities

• Operate graders and related heavy machinery to prepare, grade, and level surfaces on construction sites and road projects
• Read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand project requirements and ensure accurate execution
• Inspect and maintain grading equipment regularly, reporting any mechanical issues or maintenance needs to supervisors
• Perform pre-operation checks on machinery to ensure all equipment is functioning safely and correctly
• Adjust grader blades, tires, and other components to meet project specifications and site conditions
• Collaborate with site supervisors, surveyors, and other team members to ensure grading work aligns with project timelines and quality standards
• Follow all health and safety regulations and site protocols to maintain a safe working environment
• Monitor ground conditions and make real-time adjustments to equipment operation to achieve desired results
• Maintain accurate records of work completed, hours operated, and any issues encountered during shifts

What we're looking for

• Valid heavy equipment operator's licence or certification in grader operation, demonstrating competency and compliance with local regulations
• Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience operating graders and similar heavy machinery on construction sites
• Strong knowledge of grading techniques, equipment maintenance, and site safety protocols
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and technical specifications accurately
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness for precise equipment operation
• Physical fitness and stamina to operate machinery for extended periods in varying weather conditions
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with supervisors and team members
• Attention to detail with a commitment to meeting quality and safety standards
• Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic and professional attitude
• Experience with GPS-guided grading systems or similar technological equipment is highly desirable
