Grading Foreman

Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Grading Foreman to lead and manage grading operations on construction sites. This role is vital in ensuring that earthwork and grading activities are executed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with project specifications and safety regulations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive construction site experience, and a thorough understanding of construction management software and technical drawings. As a key team leader, you will coordinate crews, oversee quality control, and ensure timely completion of grading tasks that form the foundation for successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage grading crews, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans and specifications
• Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction schedules to coordinate grading activities effectively
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to align grading operations with overall project timelines and milestones
• Monitor construction safety regulations including OSHA standards, federal safety regulations, and site-specific safety protocols
• Conduct quality control inspections on grading work to ensure accuracy and adherence to technical standards
• Manage crew scheduling, equipment allocation, and material logistics to optimize productivity on site

Skills

• Extensive experience with construction site management, including supervising teams in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and blueprints for grading projects
• Familiarity with heavy equipment operation tools like ohmmeters for electrical testing when necessary
• Deep understanding of construction safety regulations including OSHA standards and federal safety protocols
• Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and resources effectively across multiple projects
• Excellent communication skills for managing teams, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring safety compliance
