Grading Foreman/ Grade checker

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Grading Foreman/Grade Checker to lead and oversee grading operations on construction sites. This pivotal role involves managing grading crews, ensuring precise earthwork measurements, and maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive construction management experience, strong supervisory skills, and a thorough understanding of construction drawings, schedules, and safety regulations. Duties

• Lead and manage grading crews to execute earthwork activities efficiently, safely, and according to project specifications.
• Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical plans to interpret grading requirements accurately.
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and surveyors to develop detailed grading schedules aligned with overall project timelines.
• Utilize construction management software such as ProCore, Primavera P6, and Prolog to track progress, update schedules, and document daily activities.
• Conduct quality control inspections using tools like the ohmmeter to ensure work meets all technical standards and safety regulations.
• Supervise the use of heavy equipment and ensure proper maintenance and safety compliance in accordance with OSHA and federal construction safety regulations.
• Manage crew assignments, monitor productivity, provide training on construction safety management, and foster a collaborative team environment.
• Knowledge on operating equipment such as dozer, wheel loader, excavators, skip loader ,skid loader, track loader, roller, etc
• Knowledge on GPS equipment(Topcon) and lasers

Qualifications

• Proven experience in construction site management with a focus on grading operations; previous supervisory or foreman roles preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction management software including ProCore, Bluebeam, OSHAsafety standards, and construction scheduling tools.
• Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings related to grading and earthwork projects.
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and OSHA standards for construction safety management.
• Excellent communication skills for managing teams effectively and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to supervise crews in commercial or heavy civil construction environments with a focus on quality control and project scheduling.
• Ability to manage budgets, review contracts, and oversee project documentation using Prolog or similar contract management systems.
• Valid experience in managing pipeline projects or large-scale earthmoving operations is a plus.

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
