Graduate Electrical Engineer

We’re looking for two 'all-rounder' Graduate Engineers to join our growing HV Power team. Starting in January 2027 you will be part of a two-year Graduate Programme learning a variety of workstreams and skills across our Technology, Switchgear and wider business operations.

With a Bachelors or higher degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automation or Software Engineering you want a hands-on career in the electrical industry, focussing on Protection, Control, SCADA, Switchgear and secondary designs used by power generation and transmission companies.

Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential as you’ll be working across all internal and external stakeholders. Open and timely communications are a hallmark of how we do business.

HV Power is an importer, distributor and manufacturer of technologies to Power Utilities companies throughout NZ and Australia with core areas of expertise in:

·       Substation Automation

·       Protection and Control

·       Transformer controls

·       Power Quality Analysers

·       MV Switchgear

Our business model involves a high level of technical engagement with our customers at all stages of the sales cycle from project scope, design and build to installation, supply of parts and technology, and ongoing technical service and support.

The role is Auckland based and may involve some travel within New Zealand from time to time.
