As an LPN, you will be an integral part of our patient care team, contributing to the delivery of exceptional care in a supportive, collaborative environment.

All new graduate LPNs at Meritus participate in our Nurse Residency Program.  Our residency program is a unique experience to jumpstart your career, knowing and anticipating your needs and challenges in your first year of nursing practice.  Our 12-month program compliments the nurse/preceptor relationship and gives you the tools you need to establish your foundation in the profession. This is an excellent opportunity to begin your nursing career with a strong mentorship program!

The Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency ProgramTM (NRP) focuses on new graduates as they enter practice resulting in higher retention rates.

Requirements Prior to Interviewing: (please note- you can submit your application without these requirements, they will be discussed during your phone interview).   

• 2 Letters of Recommendation, with at least one being from a clinical instructor.
• Letter of Intent

Education – Graduate from an approved nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse. 

Experience – One year experience in relevant specialty preferred. Current BLS (CPR) in compliance with policy.  

Licensure/Certification – Current license to practice in the State of Maryland. 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities – Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy. Basic computer skills required. Must possess high level of organizational and communication skills.
