Graduate or Technician Surveyor

We’re looking for a Surveyor to join our Christchurch office. This is a great opportunity to work across a broad range of surveying projects while being supported by experienced surveyors and engineers who are happy to share their knowledge.

We put a strong emphasis on mentoring and development. You’ll have clear processes and practical guidance to help you understand how we work, build your technical capability and progressively take on more responsibility. We’re a supportive team, and you’ll have plenty of opportunity to ask questions, learn from others and develop your skills in a positive working environment.

Your work will include:

• Engineering Surveying
• Cadastral Surveying
• Site and building surveys
• Preparation of reports, sketches and/or finished drawings.

Our project work covers a range of sectors and project sizes, giving you the chance to develop experience across different types of surveying rather than becoming focused on one area. You’ll also work alongside our civil, structural and geotechnical engineers, giving you exposure to the wider project and an understanding of how surveying fits into the overall design and delivery process.  There will also be opportunities to work on projects throughout the South Island, and overseas.

Our Christchurch office is a close-knit, engineering-led team with a good mix of experience and emerging talent. Our dedicated Survey team is led by a Licensed Surveyor with more than 25 years’ experience, providing strong technical support and mentoring.

About you:

Qualifications and experience:

• Surveying diploma or degree or work experience
• 2 years’ working experience in NZ
• Confidence with Word, Survey software, GPS, Robotic Total Stations and Landonline
• Have NZ Residency or Citizenship, or a current valid NZ work visa
• Hold a current full NZ driving licence.
