Job Summary

The Department of Chemistry at Lamar University is seeking a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) to assist in teaching General Chemistry II Laboratory. The GTA will work under the guidance of a faculty member and collaborate with departmental lab managers to ensure smooth lab operations and student success.

Essential Job Functions

• Assist in teaching and supervising General Chemistry II laboratory sessions.
• Support the professor and lab managers in preparing and organizing lab materials.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed in the laboratory.
• Provide guidance to students during lab experiments and answer questions related to course content.
• Maintain accurate records of student performance and attendance as directed.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications

• Must be a current graduate student in good academic standing at Lamar University.
• Strong background in chemistry and laboratory techniques.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
