Grain Processing Operator (Gluten Free)

Who We Are

CIVC Montana is a small organic and gluten-free grain mill in Belgrade, in Montana’s Gallatin Valley. We take oats and buckwheat grown by farmers in our region and turn them into certified organic, gluten-free flour, groats, rolled oats, and other grain foods that end up on kitchen tables across the country.

We’re building a better way to grow and make food: one that starts with healthy soil and fair partnerships with farmers and ends at the kitchen table with food you can trust completely. We earn that trust one bag at a time.

Every bag that leaves our mill carries a promise: organic, gluten-free, and the high-quality product possible. As our line operator, you’re the person who keeps that promise. This is hands-on work with real machines and real food, on a small team where your work is seen and your ideas count.

What You’ll Do

• Run our flour mill: feed oats through the mill and sifter, watch the line closely for safety and quality, and fill 50-lb bags of finished flour.
• Run our packaging lines: set up, fill, seal, code, and label bags for retail and wholesale customers.
• Protect quality: check weights, seals, labels, and lot codes so every lot stays organic, gluten-free, and traceable.
• Keep good records: simple, accurate production paperwork every shift.
• Keep it clean: clean and sanitize equipment and keep the plant audit ready.
• Pitch in and grow: help with staging, palletizing, and inventory, and learn new equipment as the mill expands.

This job is right for you if, you are

• reliable and careful, and you take pride in doing things right;
• comfortable following written procedures, and you speak up early when something looks off;
• good with basic math and paperwork;
• able to stand for a full shift and lift 50-lb bags repeatedly, working around flour dust, noise, and moving equipment with protective gear, and
• have a high school diploma or equivalent

Nice to have: experience in food manufacturing, milling, packaging, or machine operation; forklift experience; familiarity with organic, gluten-free, or GMP environments. If you don’t have those skills, we will train you!
