Granite Fabrication Programmer

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Granite Fabrication Programmer to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for working with digital and computer tools to import templates and create a program for CNC saws, profiling machines and digital layouts. Your expertise will drive efficiency, accuracy, and quality in our custom stone fabrication projects. Responsibilities

• Create CNC programs using AlphaCAM software for CNC machines, ensuring precision and efficiency in granite fabrication processes.
• Utilize CAD software such as AutoCAD, or similar platforms to create detailed tooling layouts and machining strategies aligned with project specifications.
• Program CNC machines using CAM software, incorporating best practices in lean manufacturing to minimize waste and maximize productivity.
• Set up machining tools, fixtures, and tooling based on mechanical blueprint interpretation and measurement data obtained through precision measurement instruments like bore gauges, micrometers, calipers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
• Conduct quality control inspections using measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, bore gauges, and CMMs to verify dimensional accuracy against specifications.
• Maintain detailed documentation of programs, tooling setups, measurement results, and process adjustments to ensure traceability and continuous improvement.
• Conduct virtual or in-person meetings with customers to review stone layouts to meet their expected outcomes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming CNC machines, or similar equipment within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, AlphaCAM, or equivalent for designing and programming machining operations.
• Familiarity with Fanuc controls or other CNC control systems used in advanced machining environments.
• Solid understanding of blueprint reading, and mechanical blueprint interpretation essential for accurate setup and machining.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in metal machining or stone fabrication processes is highly desirable.
• Ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings accurately while applying geometric principles during programming.
• Experience with measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision instruments for quality assurance.
• Knowledge of manufacturing principles aimed at reducing waste while maintaining high-quality standards in production workflows.
• Strong math skills necessary for precise programming calculations involving geometry and measurements.
