What they need
About us
KIS International School Bangkok is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment in which our students can feel secure in all of their experiences within the school community. All members of the community should at all times show respect and understanding for an individual's rights, safety, and welfare, and understand that all play a role in the safeguarding of our students, conducting themselves in a way that follows the law and reflects the ethos and values of the school.
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer whose first love is photography. A person who can then take the footage and photos into Adobe and turn it into a reel, a spread, a billboard or a prospectus page. You will own the visual output of your campus. Roughly half of this role is behind a camera and in front of people; the other half is at a desk, producing. You will be embedded in school life: in classrooms, on the sports field, at concerts, on residential trips and at admissions events.
Key responsibilities
Photography and video
● Own the school's photographic record: events, performances, athletics fixtures, classroom learning and residential trips, producing a consistent, publication-quality library
● Shoot and edit short-form video for social channels, plus longer-form pieces such as division and programme films, student and staff interviews, and campaign assets
● Direct on-camera participants such as principals, teachers, students and parents, including setting up interviews, briefing speakers and putting nervous subjects at ease
● Plan shoots proactively using the content calendar rather than reacting to scheduled events: identify requirements, coordinate bookings, and execute end-to-end coverage
● Edit and colour-grade visual assets in Lightroom and Premiere Pro to maintain a cohesive, high-quality brand standard
● Deliver event photography quickly. Selected galleries are expected within days of an event, not weeks
Design and brand
● Lead print and digital production: prospectus and brochure layouts, advertising, yearbook, exhibition and campus signage, banners, billboards and social graphics
● Act as a guardian of the KIS brand. Apply the identity consistently across every channel and sub-brand, extend the system where it needs extending, and know the difference between the two
● Interpret creative briefs independently and propose visual concepts proactively, offering fresh design directions autonomously
● Prepare key visuals, presentations and materials for academic staff and school events
● Own the photo and video library: cataloguing, keywording, file naming, archiving and permissions, so anyone can find an asset in minutes
● Brief and oversee external vendors (such as printers, videographers, and photographers) to ensure deliverables meet quality standards
Ideas and market awareness
● Track creative and platform trends across other schools and sectors in Thailand and globally, adapting the best ideas to strengthen our work
● Propose unprompted formats and creative ideas, while remaining open to experimenting with new approaches
● Engage in campaign development at the conceptual stage, rather than solely during production
Community and representation
● Work directly with teachers, principals and support staff to plan coverage and gain access to lessons and activities
● Represent the school at exhibitions, fairs and promotional events
● Follow child protection and image consent requirements at all times, including checking permissions before publication
● Support and participate in school events outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends
Candidate Qualifications
● Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Photography, Visual Communication, or a related field
● Minimum of 4 years’ professional experience, with a portfolio emphasizing strong photography and video production alongside graphic design
● Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, InDesign, and Illustrator); After Effects skills are a strong plus
● Skilled in camera operation and studio/location lighting across varied condition—including low-light auditoriums, high-contrast outdoor sports, and confined classroom settings
● Demonstrated creative thinking and a strong ability to drive visual storytelling
● Committed to staying informed on market trends and the broader creative landscape, with a proactive mindset in driving ideas forward beyond the brief
● Comfortable challenging conventional design patterns and effectively communicating the creative reasoning behind unconventional ideas
● Exceptional interpersonal and bilingual communication skills (English and Thai). Well-presented, articulate, and adept at engaging effectively with diverse audiences—from executive leadership and parents to students of all ages
● Possesses a natural affinity for working with children, demonstrated through a patient, empathetic, and age-appropriate approach
● Adept at planning and prioritizing workload across multiple concurrent projects and tight deadlines
● Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, with time off in lieu provided
